Mubasher: Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) said on Tuesday that its sales volume increased by 2.3% year-on-year in 2016, according to the company’s statement.

Sales reached 974,014 metric tonnes, compared to 951,944 metric tonnes (mt) in 2015, the statement added.

The increase is attributed to the growth in sales in Q4-16 by 1.5% to 256,445 mt compared to 252,582 mt for the same period in 2015

Despite the tough market conditions, Alba managed to close 2016 with its value-added sales averaging 56% of total shipments versus 64% in 2015.
